New Post: Lessons of ENGL 225 – What I Learned from a Community College Fiction Workshop
On creative writing and taking a class as an adult
Interesting sub-fact about this experience: I’ve never had a year of my life pass without at least a chunk of time spent as a student in a classroom. It didn’t feel difficult at all to return to a college classroom at 27 — considering my brief graduate school experience in fall 2021, it’s not like I’m so far out of practice — but I like the rhythm of a classroom, being in the same place three times per week at 9AM, and developing a rapport with classmates. I miss being in front of a classroom, too, but that’s for another day.
